This Project was working for Glenevin assisting on a 47MW solar farm carrying out the HV and LV aspects of the Project.
A significant part of our role involved installing the electrical cables that connect the solar panels (DC) to the inverters and from the inverters to the grid connection (AC). This requires careful planning of cable runs, trenching, and possibly the installation of cable trays or ducts for protection.
Each solar panel is connected to a string inverter, which then converts DC to AC power. The electrical team runs wiring from the panels to the inverters and ensures all connections are secure and meet code requirements.
The installation of switchgear, circuit breakers, and other protection devices is critical. Workers will install and wire these devices to protect the system from faults and overloads.
